Near Fukubatake

Lake Tsuburoko

Lake Tsuburo is a 5-minute walk from Fukubatake.

Lake Tsuburo is an artificial lake created by damming a dam. It is a beautiful lake where you can enjoy cherry blossoms in spring and autumn leaves in autumn.
Lake Tsuburo is famous for bass fishing , attracting anglers from all over the country.
You can also enjoy smelt fishing from March to November.

There are also pleasure boats and rental boats on Lake Tsuburo.
You can enjoy cruising for about 30 minutes on the pleasure boat.

Rental boats include fishing boats and paddle boats.

※The pleasure boat runs daily at 11:00 and 14:00. No reservation required. Boat rental reception starts at 6:30. Return time is 16:30.

There is also a canoe competition facility on Lake Tsuburo, where the World Masters Games are scheduled for 2027.
There is also a trial class for canoe beginners.

Mt.Ryumondake

Ryumondake is a mountain with an altitude of 904 meters.
It is certified as a suitable place for forest therapy for its health and healing benefits.
It takes about 10 minutes on foot from Fukubatake to the entrance of the mountain and about 2 hours to the top. On the way, there is "Ryumon Falls" about 10 meters high.
Ryumon-dake has the remains of Ryumon-ji Temple, which is said to have been built in the 7th century. It was a very large temple, but now almost nothing remains.

 

Yamaguchi shrine

It is a shrine located a 5-minute walk from Fukubatake.
It enshrines the god of the mountain.
The shrine is now uninhabited, but it has a long history, and the shogun used to visit it during his travels to pray for his safety. You can see lanterns donated by Yoshimune Tokugawa, the 8th shogun, and lanterns donated by villagers with a stamp of 1503.
There is also a colony of Endangered Class IA Myrsine stolonifera on the premises, which is designated as a natural monument.

 

Sugyoji temple

Sugyoji is a temple of Shingon Buddhism located a 3-minute walk from Fukubatake. It enshrines Amida Nyorai.
The temple is said to be effective in preventing dementia.
Inside the grounds, you can see stone monuments dating back to the 1300s.

 

Yoshino Sports Park　(Yoshino Undo Koen)

There is a sports park about 15 minutes on foot from Fukubatake.
There is a training gym there. You can also enjoy baseball, basketball, tennis, table tennis and badminton.
Cherry blossoms are beautiful in spring, and the area is crowded with cherry blossom viewers.
There is a restaurant on the premises. Business hours are 11:00~14:00 17:00~20:00.
